Responsible for the plan reviews, issuance of permits, inspections and enforcement under one or more of the following Electrical, Building, Mechanical and/or Plumbing Codes. Also responsible to provide consultation with contractors and designers to assist them in understanding the State Building Codes. The position is also responsible for enforcement activities that pertain to Town Codes and local zoning ordinances.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a valid North Carolina driver's license. Graduation from high school and experience in the building construction industry and enforcement of code standards; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Code Inspector I: One or more Level I Certifications Code Inspector II: One or more Level II Certifications Code Inspector III: One or more Level III Certifications Senior Inspector: At least two Level III Certifications Master Inspector: Four Level III Certifications
